Welcome to Spring 2019!

By WebAdmin 02/08/2019, 8:30am CST

Welcome to the Surge Soccer Club Spring 2019 season! We are thrilled that you have decided to join us.  For those of you who are coming back to the club, welcome back. For those of you who are new, we hope we can exceed your expectations.

Our registrar is working hard to get everyone assigned to teams, we should have everyone in place by early next week.  We are working behind the scenes to get everything in place.  But, I wanted to share with you a list of important dates in the coming weeks as we get started.

Saturday, February 16th

Season Kick-off Event
> Come hear important season information and meet your coach.
> Specific times and details to come soon.

Week of February 18th

> Practices Begin

Saturday, March 2nd

> Games Begin

Some other details you may want to know

1.   In soccer, our age divisions are signified by the letter "U" and a number. ie. u5, u6, u7, u8, etc. The U stands for under. And this corresponds to the age your child was as of Jan 1, 2019.  Thus, every child in U5 was 4 as of Jan 1.

2.   Shinguards are a must!  Kids may not practice or play games without them. Period. This is a safety concern for your children, and we take it very seriously.

3.   We expect every player to have their own ball. Coaches will be provided with a set of balls for games, and practice if you forget yours. But you should plan to own one and bring it to practice.
> U5-U8 = Size 3
> U10-U12 = Size 4

I am excited to see you all the fields on the 16th!

Season Starts Saturday!

By SMAYSO 09/27/2018, 8:15pm CDT

Season starts this weekend & some other reminders.

We are so glad to be getting the season underway. As of right now, we are looking at rain on Saturday morning, but as long as it is not severe (heavy rains or lightning) we will play all games as scheduled.

So, dress for the the weather! As we begin, below is some information that may everyone should know.

  1.  We are Playing the Schedule for September 29th -  Games from the 22nd have been moved to October 13th, scheduled at the same time as the original games. The online schedule now reflects that.  If games need to be rescheduled, we will do our best to have the online schedule reflect that, so please stay up to date.  You can find that schedule here.
  2.  Our Referees are Learning Too -  Just like the kids in the program, our referees are just learning the skills of the game as well.  Coaches are going to treat the referees with respect and I  implore you to do the same. Mistreatment of our referees will not be tolerated.
  3.  No Dogs!  - This is just a reminder that we will not play games if there is a dog present. Leave them home. It is a safety concern for all of our kids.
  4. Park in Designated Parking Spots Only -  There is plenty of parking in Five Mile Dam Park for all games being played on Saturday.  It may mean that you will have to walk a little ways to get to the fields, but hey, we are all there for exercise anyway, right?  Parking along the road in the park may get you a ticket and parking along Old Stagecoach Road is not safe.
  5.  Picture Day is October 6 -  Every team will have picture day on October 6.  Your time is scheduled and is available on our website. Please show up 20 minutes before your scheduled time.    Link to the order form and schedule.
  6. Registration Fees are Due by Saturday Oct 6 -  For those of you who have chosen to pay in person instead of online, your payments are due ASAP.  You child will not be allowed to play on October 6, unless you have paid or made other arrangements with us.  You may give the money to your coach or find someone with a Maroon SMAYSO shirt on Saturday.
